GIGLIUCCI PIPE
Shapes, dimensions, proportion between the parts, colors, finishes are all elements of a continuous research that find a temporary solution and then evolve into variations from the standard of departure. Let’s go on with a new brand in our family of artisans, this time we are in Tuscany in the Maremma where we find Andrea Gigliucci. Andrea was born in Follonica in 1968. He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and at the same time began to move in the art circles.
He started working as a cabinetmaker, opening his own restoration workshop in 1999. In 2006 he made his first root pipe, thanks to his passion for slow smoking and his familiarity with the raw material of which the area where he lives is very rich.
In 2011 the collaboration begins in the Foundation project, brand of the well-known Roman shop Becker & Musicò. His passion for classical English but also Danish forms is accentuated. His points of reference become Pipe Dan and Krisswill and is influenced by Ilsted and by the light lines of Paolo Becker.
During his studies of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and in the subsequent work of cabinetmaker he found the conceptual continuity of the three phases of creation:
- search
- solution
- evolution
Continuity that finds itself unchanged even today in its pipemaking, approaching the pipe object, as well as for innate passion for the slow smoke, like a real composition:

Specifically, Andrea’s achievements tend to balance between curved parts and straight parts and between the proportions of the entire composition, favoring sober shapes and clean lines, as well as chromatic combinations are always the result of thoughtful choices and of course, the utmost care is applied to all the details.
Its shapes that distinguish it only Bulldog and Rhodesian, with its rustication and revisited shape.
